"Home for the Holiday's" in Hebron, IL

Perry Como had it right with his lyrics to the song, "Home for the Holidays” and how people pine for the sunshine of a friendly gaze. That’s just what the little town of Hebron, Illinois is gearing up for with help from local businesses and residents like Tammy Lillie. Local businesses and Tammy put in numerous hours, collecting donations for the new tree lighting ceremony on November 24th which took place next to the new seasonal ice rink (located at Moraine Road off of Price Road) provided by the Village of Hebron.

If you're looking for that one of a kind nostalgic piece just in time for the holidays then stop by Prairie Avenue Antiques, Grampy’s Antique Store, or Lloyd & Leota’s before making your way to try the best broasted chicken on either side of the IL/WI border. Crandall's offers an ALL you can eat chicken special for $12.95, and on Friday you won't want to miss their $11.95 ALL you can eat fish fry. Enjoy their prime rib special after 4:00 pm on Saturday, or their Sunday brunch from 10:00 to 1:30 pm.

Another breakfast and/or lunch option just off of Main Street if you enjoy food "made from scratch" is Hazel's Diner. Hazel's Diner is committed to a scratch made concept and they serve a unique combination of comfort style farm food and French patisserie. Even the breads served with breakfast and the burger buns are made daily in their kitchen. If you like smoked meat try your taste buds at Beaner's, brand new location in Hebron offering delicious Mexican BBQ.

Starting at 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm on Friday, December 21st see the Hebron home holiday light displays via horse drawn trolley rides from Dickens Carriage Company, and sponsored by the Hebron Antique and Specialty District merchants. Trolley rides will leave every half hour from the Village Hall. First come, first served. Limited space available.

Then finish the evening off by heading over to the state of the art, whiskey themed, Hart's Saloon. Enjoy an ice cold beer, premium cocktail or a wood-fired pizza. If you're looking to roam and be happy then visit downtown Hebron this weekend - you can't beat this home sweet home.
