Cornerstone Shop & Gallery Hosting Olympic Hopefuls Harry Melges IV and Finn Rowe

The Cornerstone Shop & Gallery will be hosting Olympic hopefuls Harry Melges IV and Finn Rowe on Thursday, July 12, 2018, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Harry Melges IV, grandson of Buddy Melges, winner of two Olympic Medals and the 1992 America’s Cup, grew up sailing on Geneva Lake. When Harry was just 13, he placed second at the E-Scow Nationals as a skipper. This performance won him an invitation to the E Scow Blue Chip which was in its 49th year. Melges and Rowe, working as a team, won the event and Harry set a record as the youngest skipper ever to do so. That’s when his dream of competing in the Olympics began.

Finn Rowe grew up spending his summers in Lake Geneva and started sailing at the age of 7. After perfecting his sailing skill in a variety of boats, Rowe was introduced to the 29er, a high performance feeder class to the 49er. That’s when his dream of competing in the Olympics began. Earlier this year, Melges and Rowe won the E Nationals – and were the youngest team ever to do so. Today, Harry and Finn's dreams are coming closer to a reality as they vie for a spot on the US Team for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.

It will be Anchors Aweigh on July 12 at the Cornerstone Shop & Gallery when the Melges-Rowe Team, along with Buddy Melges, will be onboard for a very special evening.
